What is Operational Planning?

Operational planning is the process of planning strategic goals and objectives to tactical goals and objectives.It describes milestones, conditions for success and explains how, or what portion of, a strategic plan will be put into operation during a given operational period, The plan is meant to define clearly the actions the organization will take to support the strategic objectives and plans set by the upper management.

Use cases

Suppose that there is a company Shri sai Pvt. Ltd that manufactures cars parts. There are a lot of processes involved like stitching, sewing and designing under which various tasks are assigned to the respective departments. As soon the the corresponding jobs are received, the departments are required to send back a confirmation in order to validate the assignment of the jobs.The feature of Operational Planning gave a perfect view to the owner about the job orders target Quantity, Activity with Machine and to be completed in how many days . In this view, a user can access Target quantity and pending quantity status report.

Also, provide organisation personnel with a clear picture of their tasks and responsibilities in line with the goals and objectives contained within the Strategic Plan. It plans for the implementation of strategies contained within the Strategic Plan.

Steps to be performed for Operational Planning

1. Go to Production Planning.

2. Here planning section.

3. For, operational planning you need to create some masters, Now, click on work center.

4. Click on Activity app.

5. Now, click on subscribe button.

6. Again click on app, To activate setting.

7. Turn on setting.

8. Now, click on activity setup.

9. Following screen will open.

10.Select Activity > Enter Setup code > Enter Setup description > Enter capacity > Select base units > Enter days as shown below.

11. Click on save and continue.

12.Here you can check all saved activity set up.

13. Now.Go to Planning.

14. Click on operational planning.

15. Screen will appear like this. Click on Add New Activity.

16. Following screen will open.

17. Enter Activity group name > Description > Select activity > Click on save and continue.

18. Select Activity Group > Select Activity > Save.

19. As you can see activity group saved.

20. Select Pending job order.

21 Mark tick and click on plan.

22. Here you can pending job order as per your Group Activity selection.

23. Screen will appear like this.

24. Select job order as required and you can see the complete operation plan as per target quantity.

25. Select Machine.

26. Select End Date as needed.

27. Click on Edit if you want any changes in it.

28. Click on Plus button and you can see the complete detailed information about the job order target completion.

29. Information will appear like this. Click on Plan.

30. Here you can see Job order no. and planned quantity.

31. click on Print.

32. Select date and click on Print.

33. Here is print of Operational Plan of Job order.
